I was at Popham over the weekend and noticed with amusement a Cessna G-WEWI….probably has highly absorbent seat cushions. And I remember that Whitbread the brewers used to have a company Navajo registered G-AWWW which used the call-sign “Treble Whisky”.

This may help

Doh!

I am a bit fed up. I used to own G-LIZZ

But ATC, particularly French ATC, would insist on addressing me as G-ILZZ. It was literally half the time that they would make that mistake.

So, when I broke and replaced G-LIZZ with a Navajo, I decided that if I couldn’t beat them, I’d join them:

And what happens? Yes, you got it in one. They call me G-LIZZ!

What’s a chap to do?

You can’t re-use a G-reg number anyway unless the original airframe has been rebuilt.
