Portoroz LJPZ (Piran) Meet-up 5-7 Sep 2015

The Croatian one is probably here but that link is also dead.

The main page is here and there is what looks like a VFR chart URL here but it doesn’t download.

Can anyone download these? I get about 100k-1MB and then it stops.

Done,

They are in dropbox for you.

The Slovenian ones worked ok for me in IE.

The Croat ones wouldn’t work from your links, did from this page

The internet is full of wonders, because the last URL above is totally dead for me.

It works in Chrome and with a VPN terminating in the USA… and the VPN also makes Chrome work on the Slovenia chart. So, anyone who would like these for the fly-in, drop me an email and I will send you the dropbox link. I won’t post it because that’s a sure way to get one’s dropbox account terminated.

Well, I went to Venice Lido as per the original plan this weekend – great!

I wish you all a similarly fun trip next weekend!

Safe flights, Sam.

Can you report on the airport, the surface condition, procedures, etc, @Sam_Rutherford?

Such information is useful to people who want to fly there in the future.

The three day text forecast for the Alps region doesn’t look too promising for a VFR-crossing…

Plan B, VFR from the UK, would be down to Cannes and then along northern Italy.

However, the detailed picture for Friday

is changing all the time.

Important notes for those who may fly on to Brac LDSBhere

My reading of it is that the PPR during uncontrolled days (which I understand to be Mon-Thurs) is not required if you are below 20 tons.

And just got this from Brac:

Starting with this year AOPA membership is valued at LDSB: valid card brings discount 50% on handling, landing and parking fees

Remember Croatia is UTC+3 so Brac LDSB closes 1300 UTC Mon-Thurs. This always made the flight Shoreham-Brac a challenge. I had to depart right when Shoreham opens… but this time we are not doing that.

No, it’s not. Croatia is UTC+2 during summer and UTC+1 duing winter, same as Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, etc.
