Advice for a flight to Biggin Hill EGKB

It is likely to be a 50m walk across the apron.

@ Timothy – thanks, you were spot on

Quick trip comments now that I am back. All in all, a very convenient airport and much easier than I was expecting.

The weather over the weekend was spectacular which made for a very smooth flight to/from the UK. The Channel was also clear both ways.

Coming in from the east IFR at FL100, descent as expected, from SUMUM received direct RAVSA and then step-down descents to join the ILS 21. Landed, exited via taxiway D2 and then parked on the main ramp just south of the terminal building/tower. All very friendly, no handling required.

Charges for one int’l landing, one overnight (<1,7 T) were :

Landing fee = 29.40 GBP
Border Force levy = 7.30
Overnight fee = 14.15
TOTAL = 50.85

Getting into central London was also quick and easy. 15 min with Uber from Biggin to Bromley South train station (12.00 GBP) then 15 min train to Victoria station.

Traffic to Bromley South can be a problem. Orpington can be a better option. But the difference will rarely be more than 10 minutes either way, so not a big deal.
