Cessna T207A thoughts? (also other Cessna 2xx types)

https://www.plane4you.eu/en/offers/cessna-t207a-oe-kip,336

What’s your opinion of this plane? Worth 265k?

It sure caught my attention. Up to 8 seats. Looks very nicely renovated. Would this be a good platform for VFR/IFR „hops“ in the 200-300NM range? Predominantly Austria to Italy, Slovenia and Croatia (not limited to but including grass fields).
Any experience with operating costs? Maintenance? Depreciation?

Appreciate your input and any further reading tipps on the C207 (so far I could gather it is sensitive for cg during boarding because of its length). Any other caveats?

The 207 sled is a workhorse in Alaska so values are somewhat underpinned. This is unusual in being low time and turbo charged. You could think of it as a poor man’s Caravan.

Just out of curiosity: what private application requires 8 seats? Or is it intended as say a 4seater with ample luggage room? Do the 200-300Nm-legs require 310 Turbo-HP? The leather upholstery is neat, but that’s for it. Are all hoses and rubber parts exchanged?. I doubt (see img 44) If not, one is probably paying for nice paint and upholstery while most of the instrument panel and the airframe remained untouched. Don’t know if an older NA Cirrus can be had at the same price tag. How long had the aircraft ot flown? 146h in 3 1/2 years sound realistic, but maybe it’s sitting in the hangar since 2 years.

Please elaborate? Underpinned as in only a niche use for C207s?

Sharing the excit of private ga flying among friends and family.

Most 4 seaters cannot handle 4 adults.
Most 6 seaters can handle 4.

Can a T207 handle 6 adults for 2 hour flights?

Very good observation! How much would it be to fix that? Tens of thousands?

Either,
- You have a family of 4 people each one carry his own weight as luggage
- You are touring Ibiza with 8 naked friends by plane instead of taking the limousine car

Will let Snoopy decide

Snoopy I can’t advise on asking price but the 207 is niche so not a liquid investment! A refurbished 206 might be worth $200k plus. They appear to have updated the panel on this 207.

Why is a 206 more liquid? Thanks.

Well liquidity is all relative when discussing forty year old airframes! The 206 does most of what the 207 achieves in terms of practical useful load with better speed. Many have been abused as long term para drop aircraft with high cycles of take off and landings and high time airframes. A private, low time (less than 5,000 hours) well maintained example can be sold relatively easily.

The wing is slightly more sophisticated than the 182 (better aileron design), and the airframe/nose gear is of a tougher design. The pre 1986 type had the Continental 520, the new line has Textron Lycoming, but all the new Cessnas with Lycoming give up some useful load due to increased empty weight.

The 207 has rarely been used privately but there is nothing wrong with the type. The universe of buyers is just less than a 206.

Thank you Robert.

Is 130kts TAS @17gph realistic for the 207?
