USA buyer agent

The great USA is blessed with nice dry air desert and mountain states, unlike the bulk of our European GA fleet which lives mainly in Northern Europe.

Identifying a suitable purchase candidate, negotiating a price, arranging an escrow and contract, organising a pre buy, trouble shooting the likely squawk list, organising hangar until the northern VFR route opens – this is potentially a huge added value.

Have pinged an e mail to Randy Africano but have had no reply. He specialises in BE35.

Perhaps the EuroGA community has a recommendation for a US buyer’s agent?

The American Bonanza Society has the pre buy process very well documented, and most Bo’s seem to have all logs. With over 10,000 out there and the owner demography being what it is (a good proportion of the listings are due to lost medical), one can be patient and find a good example.

Good example being dry country, all logs, no damage, un modified or lightly modified, reasonable avionics (GPS IFR, Mode S ADSB) – some are decked out with overkill in the avionics department – and sensible W&B. Quality of airframe maintenance is paramount. Lots of newly painted junkers out there!

Focusing on K through P. The K/M with a 470C/N are the tear drop third window and being lighter (around 1950 lbs EW is a good datum – then if they have been modified this goes to pot), are solid 165-170 KTAS performers.

A few years ago could be found for $50-60k, now $70k plus.

I bought my Aztec from http://www.markhegg.com/ who also works as a buyer agent. I enjoyed the process and he was a cut above all the other sellers I worked with at the time (2 of them were real crooks, btw. Thanks Saavy for saving my bacon). We regularly keep in touch and I would warmly recommend him (happy do to an intro email if you wish, just PM me).

A famous buyer agent on BeechTalk is Neal Schwartz (Latitude Aviation). I interacted with him when I sold him some avionics for a friend (very positive interaction); he probably has the largest network of all agents but he might be very busy.

Cheers

May I ask why the K through P? The ruddervators of the later models (with the tab sticking out) are easier to balance and with all the issues ongoing I think will be quicker solved. From the S you basically have the same airframe as the later BE35’s. Mine is a V35 66 model just before the speedslope was introduced V35A. I have the 3600 lbs STC with Tip Tanks useful is 1360 something empty 2240. Speed 160KTAS a FL100 doing 11.5 gph. Note that most STCs apply to the later models only TKS, TN, etc..

@wleferrand thank you will reach to Mark to discuss preliminary logistics and feasibility.

@Vref good points replied on the other thread. An important point may be the V series hold their value better.

I have acted as a buyer’s agent for Bonanzas, although to date just for US customers. You can send me a PM with your email if you wish details.
