Diamond DA50 Turboprop

Just presented in Friedrichshafen. Unpressurized. How useful. With a 450sp turbine from Ukraine.

AVweb article here.

Why is it that I always get a strange feeling in my stomach when I see official Diamond promo videos?

Seems they have finally understood that one can’t use a 167 hp engine for 1.5 ton aircraft (as was originally planned for the DA50). In fact, it looks like this could become the first ever Diamond aircraft which is not underpowered.

It does look amazing!

I would want one of these right now but they first need to replace the defective hydraulic pump for the landing gear

They could’ve equipped it with rectractable gear.

I’ll wait until Cirrus makes one of those :-)

Is this the one with the russian-made turbine?

can’t imagine it has much of a range so wondering who it will appeal to?

At first glance, it seems a strange choice… but it has done Cirrus no harm.

Does that concept make ANY sense? A propjet without a pressurized cabin? I don’t expect a big range, and won low it’s slow and too thirsty …
