Airfields for Grindelwald, Switzerland - Bern LSZB, Thun LSZW, Meiringen LSMM, or others?

Some of these may be inaccessible as they are military.

I would appreciate any tips

Hi Peter,

LSZB Bern certainly accepts civil traffic. GA is more than welcome…

LSMM is military only.

LSZW is civil and open on weekends, but normally closed on weekdays, as its circuit is partly in a shooting range and the airfield in the middle of a tank exercise ground. But sometimes one can negotiate openings during the week, might be worthwhile to call.

Well out of date info now. I was in Bern in 2009. It required “handling” but had a dedicated GA desk for that. Total costs for landing, 3 days parking, customs and handling was around €60. So not expensive for a particular trip.

Customs were available. They had an office in the same building and you walked through it to the GA desk. You don’t go to the main terminal, but rather a GA office.

No hassles at the airport at all. They have a car hire desk.

That’s roughly still like that, @dublinpilot.

The major changes are the now mandatory lottery, if you win you get a strip search for free.

Parking Sector Blue (what you get in a SEP) is interesting, just shove your plane somehow into the blue markings, it’s a huge mikado type mess
