Archer 3 fuel sender

The fuel sender is way off on one tank. I can not find any PMA part for the 24V Archer, so it will be expensive. Does anyone know which resistance is expected from the sender? (So I can test the gauge inside the airplane before I order a new transducer…)

I know zero about Piper fuel senders, but a few years ago (maybe 2011) I used this guy successfully to rebuild and calibrate fuel senders on my plane.

If its a potentiometer type sender and the gauge is reading low, it will be worthwhile to check if corroded electrical connections are adding extra resistance.

I would suggest measuring the pot on the working wing.

They are usually conductive plastic, or wirewound, pots, housed in a “sealed” box. If wirewound, the resistance won’t be high because the wire would be too thin and fragile – my guess is 1k max. If you put an ohm-meter on it, any damage is really obvious.

The resistance on the end stop should be way less than 30 ohms – more like 1 ohm or less. There should be 3 terminals
