Rutan did an experiment in designing a twin engine experimental aircraft to see if it was possible to make it faster, safer, longer range, use less fuel and so on than a traditional contemporary design. He designed it, built it, and flew it, and proved that it was indeed possible. The aircraft is completely asymmetric in shape, yet the aerodynamics makes it much more symmetric than any traditional twin. A work of art IMO

If you look closely from the spinner towards the windshield, you can see some engines are pointed at a slight angle. A Piper Turbo Arrow comes to mind. It has a rudder trim too to tune at cruise.
