@Dimme Happy that you liked it. I’m doing mostly local flying now with no big plans. Actually just came back from Åre. Really like it there. Beautiful.

Thanks for posting, reading your trip reports and seeing your videos was a beautiful way of spending my first half of the day!

So when are you flying to the moon? Please take me with you.

Yes, I actually had a 350l tank onboard. In case I couldn’t arrange fuel at SCIR, we would bring some in the tank from SCIP and pump it into wings after landing.

As for connecting it to the fuel system, I was told it is can’t be legally done in an EU reg plane. Would love to hear from someone who did it.

One thing that I would change to make it more enjoyable is bring an oxygen concentrator. Cabin alt of 9800 for many hours is tiring.

What an amazing trip! Did you consider a ferry tank? After having read many such trip reports it looks like having more range is what makes such trips more enjoyable with 2000 NM being the magic number.

AFAIR for the Seychelles trip Mike started applying about a week before start. For the RTW trip it was two weeks before. Some countries will not issue permits until shortly before the flight, so one can’t get all permits a month in advance and be sure that everything is OK.

Biggest problem for us was Indonesia, where we received the permit on the day of flight and Nepal due to special requirements at VNKT.

Generally for planning such a trip, I would advise:
- prepare an excel sheet with departure and arrival times for every flight, both local and UTC. Verify the times against AIP opening times for each airport.
- verify immigration availability for every airport planned, verify fuel
- finalize three weeks in advance, submit to permit specialist for verification

I had an excel sheet with all details in the cloud (iCloud registration required). Marcin would modify it and I would immediately see the changes from my phone. Worked great.

It would be interesting to hear how long it took to arrange the overflight permits, especially the Afghanistan one.

Incredible utility for this aircraft – I know of a couple of UK earthrounders (Cessna T210M and PA-30), the 210 having done the South Pacific westbound solo, which implies some 12 hour plus legs.

Great report, the factory pilots getting it done in 80 hours must have relied on a jet stream effect.
