CAA will work to get rid of red tape

1 Post

[thread already running here – http://www.euroga.org/forums/flying/1545-caa-to-slash-red-tape-for-ga]

Excellent news of course, but I’m wondering how much they can practically do – for instance many of the most suffocating regulations are now from EASA (such as the new regulation which will make small flight schools/independent flight instructors practically an impossibility – we’re losing our only flight instructors in the Isle of Man as a direct consequence of the extra regulatory burden imposed by EASA). Notably, EASA also promised to get rid of onerous and disproportionate regulation but they seem not to have carried through on their promise.

I have seen that the IMC rating will still be issued until 2019 at least so the CAA can get concessions from Europe, so I’m hoping we can be hopeful!
