I was particularly impressed with the high-resolution sunlight-readable display.

Yes. But not readable at all without sunlight… And it must take ages to spool that paper tape to the correct checklist which fits the actual emergency.
In some regards it is quite modern, I guess. If the tool ever needs updating, just use the well known cut and paste-method.
Was mounting it a major or minor modification????

Convair 580 at the Piane Field sometimes last year. Someone just just went to the “options” – “background color” and selected blue ;-)
I love that it is at EFATO. You lose an engine at 100 feet and have to scroll that before cleaning up…..!
