Getting a slot may also be a bit trickier than at EDDB…
Is this “mandatory handling” stuff really legal? Stockholm/Arlanda used to have that requirement. AOPA-Sweden complained to the Swedish Transport Agency which decided that such a requirement was contrary to EU legislation – apparently you have the right to “self-handling”.
In response to this, Stockholm/Arlanda now requires either that you use a handling company or that you have a “self-handling agreement”. Exactly what such an agreement involves is not clear to me, but I know that there are aeroclubs in Sweden that intend to get one so hopefully we’ll know soon.
Handling not mandatory.
Are we sure Munich is out of the question? Their published charges for up to 2000kgs are just EU110 lump sum for landing, noise and takeoff. http://www.munich-airport.de/media/download/bereiche/aviation/charges2014.pdf
Are there any other major charges? I did not find any in the other schedule: http://www.munich-airport.de/media/download/bereiche/aviation/sonst_dienstleistent_en.pdf
unless all PAX are classified as “VIPs”.
Looks like the information I had from another website was wrong anyway. It seems that ALL cars need the yellow or green emission sticker for the centers of 40 german cities – except vintage cars, cars of disabled persons and some other vehicels. This is a link in English.
Any car with a catalytic converter will get it – and you can order it by mail.

This is why all Swiss rental cars I had, are equipped with that green sticker.
Switzerland is not a member of the EW. (but nobody bothered me for lacking the sticker). Having said that the Swiss Touring Club can organise the sticker for you.
Switzerland is not part of the European Economic Area (EEA, = Europäischer Wirtschaftsraum). I guess there must some other provision including them.
Of course it means Switzerland too (“eine anderen Vertragspartei des Abkommens über den Europäischen Wirtschaftsraum”).
I assume that “ein andere Vertragspartei des Abkommens über den Europäischen Wirtschaftsraum” refers to non-EU EES members? In that case we would have the interesting situation that cars from Liechtenstein would also not need the sticker. :-)
