Courchevel LFLJ PA46 F-HYGA crash

https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/266423

Not so happy an outcome :(

Oxford (EGTK), United Kingdom

What is it with people buying expensive aircraft and crashing them a few days later on their first real mission?

And then Courchevel again. It seems to be some kind of Mekka or bucket list thing for French pilots. But even having acquired the autorisation de site does not seem to prevent accidents. Looks like he might have landed just short of the threshold.

Mainz (EDFZ) & Egelsbach (EDFE), Germany

RIP. Hope the accident report will shed some light on the cause(s).

It’s quite a bank to the threshold so I guess he dropped it in short. Shame as no need to be that short and slow – you need bags of power to get the hill before stopping. Weather doesn’t look a factor. Shame.

Beware not in a plane as heavy as the PA46. I did not try the Mirage but the Meridian needs serious braking while other planes need power to make it up the hill. But still obviously no reasons to stall or similar…

Very sad. I hope we learn the “why”, and that it’s not another “hey let me take my new to me 350hp 2t sleek airplane to an airport I’ve only landed at with much lighter aircraft”.

Sadly I think you may have just hit the nail on the head denopa.
