These Hawkers are not doing too well at airshows. Another crash, somewhat similar (but this was a Hurricane, not a Hunter). Still reminded me. Check the second video.
Accelerated stall?
The video doesn’t show all that much, but I wondered what kind of maneuver he was doing. Stopping the roll for no apparent reason, then hurling to the ground (by the looks of it). Perhaps some malfunction of the aircraft, or something happened to the pilot?
It looked like he was on the way down in a half loop when suddenly the aircraft changed direction and went into the ground. That could have been an accelerated stall with a break over a wing.
It doesn’t look like that to me. The (slow?) roll just stopped, and the aircraft changed direction towards and down to the audience, like if the controls were frozen. There were no high g maneuvers there. I would say the pilot was incapacitated in some way.
