Sad one.

A Rockwell 112TC-A Alpine Commander crashed shortly after takeoff from Fife Airport (EGPJ) in a field near Kinglassie, Fife.

The sole pilot perished and the aircraft was written off.

Fly more.

Eyewitness mentions engine sound, stall, nosedive into ground, in the video.

Very sad, while the 112TC is a bit of a ground hugger, 700m and a 5-10 knot headwind component is ample TODA.

The airplane appears recently sold with an advertised low hours engine.

Yet another reminder to regularly practice forced landings and prepare yourself with a pre takeoff briefing of what you’ll do if the engine goes pop on climb out…

METAR EGQL 231250Z 25008KT 9999 -RA BKN050 OVC074 05/02 Q1018 RMK BLU=
METAR EGQL 231150Z 24006KT 9999 -RA SCT040 OVC082 05/01 Q1019 RMK BLU=
METAR EGQL 231050Z 24009KT 9999 -DZ OVC064 04/M00 Q1019 RMK BLU=
METAR EGQL 230950Z 25010KT CAVOK 04/M01 Q1019 RMK BLU=
