Depository for off topic / political posts (NO brexit related posts please)

I had a mainland Chinese colleague who was of the opinion that Britain was far more socialist than China in that our state had more genuine interest in looking after individuals (e.g. ensuring access to healthcare, benefits to prevent people from becoming destitute etc.)

China on the one hand has come to embrace a form of aggressive capitalism backed up by an authoritarian state which implements a degree of central planning when it comes to strategic interests such as securing access to natural resources abroad.

I don’t believe the usual communist/socialist/capitalist labels really capture the nuances.

No I don’t think they should take all the blame but it certainly shouldn’t be attempted to be written out of history as seems to be the case. the national socialist workers party had some pretty socialist style policies as I’ve stated. I think history has shown pretty well the track record socialism / communism has had and it’s very sad that so many have had to die and live in horrendous conditions because of it.

Thanks arj1 :)

Why does everyone speak about the Nazis like they were a very unique group of particularly bad people which went extinct with the end of WW2 when in fact racists fought against racists on all enemy lines and later the very same people who were responsible for a genocide became the leaders of a democratic country? It’s easy to put a label on someone but it’s not like the addition or removal of a label changes these people.

Can this discussion immediately terminate please.

The problem, as everybody knows perfectly well, is that these things are very much only just below the surface in modern Europe. What happens is that EuroGA gets slagged off on certain domestic forums for carrying a debate about these topics. It is the additional burden of being an international forum.

Inflammatory posts removed.

Why do people bother?

Why not be nice and maybe even start a thread on some interesting aviation topic?

I was being humourous about Godwin’s law, not inflammatory. Sorry you saw it that way.

I didn’t “see it that way”. This is not personal. I just know exactly what has been leveraged by certain vindictive people in the past to slag off EuroGA on certain social media on the mainland and to drive contributors away from EuroGA. This is my job as an admin to prevent.

That you may not have seen this happen is because it was addressed early on.

Like I say above: Why not be nice and maybe even start a thread on some interesting aviation topic?

Regarding vaccines, Im very concerned that it will be rushed to market due to politics and not science based safety of use. They are using new techniques to produce the vaccine.

That`s very true. And there are other concerns. New techniques allow Monitoring and Control of the population by smartphone using new developments, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Robert Koch Institute.
“Storage, access, and control of medical records is an important topic with many possible approaches,” these exceed Orwell’s ideas:

Just a little update as to the medications and its efficacy regarding COVID-19, specifically HCQ.

The FDA has reversed it decision and now is allowing its use by practitioners and not limiting it to only hospitalized patients.

What does this mean to the lay person?
1.It means that your family practitioner can prescribe it ,if he thinks its in the patients best interest WITHOUT the fear of being sued. If they are practicing in the US.

2.Many countries throughout the world follow US FDA guidelines regarding the use of tests and drugs. Since the US opened the flood gates for the use of this drug HCQ other countries will use it as well.

Why the about face? Why the Clarification by Commissioner Hahn that the first restriction was not actually a restriction but a misinterpretation of the guidelines.

Because the FDA AND actually named certain functionaries within the FDA were sued by leading Drs. in The American Association of
Physicians and Surgeons alleging that, obstructing the use of HCQ was based on politics and not science. That thousands of people have died as a result of this political decision. The court filings indicated the success rates of certain countries using the medication such as India, whose death rate is 2/1,000,000 population. No thats not a misprint and dont forget its a 3rd world country. The court filing, I believe was on 6/2/20. The people responsible were moved to a different position. If the suit goes forward discovery will yield just how politically motivated the FDA actually is when making decisions. It might also indicate just how involved they are with the Big Pharma, the profits of big Pharma, and the FDA’s protection of them.

It will cost the US Govt 100s of Billions of $$$$. Plus a black eye not just with US citizens but also with countries following FDA guidelines in
rigid lock step to their decrees.
