FAA to restart certifying new FAR 145 Repair Stations

I had heard a number of times that becoming a 145 RS was impossible in Europe. One had to wait until an existing one had gone bust and somehow you could buy the concession.

I didn’t realise it was also impossible in the USA

N-regs need them for the two-yearly altimeter/transponder test, and I think 5700kg+ aircraft need them anyway for maintenance.
