I’m with loco, I’ve sent in plenty of flight plans from ESMS to ESMS during IR training, but with a STAY somewhere to do holds or upsets or whatnot, never had any issue.
Aviacon’s home airport is in Germany, maybe (s)he is not going to do the testflight in the UK?
Here you go:
I have received the form from another person – thank you. Yes; an RAF form.
Sorry, my computer died with multiple simultaneous hardware failures, so I have been out of touch. Thank goodness for Amazon Prime!
It is some time since I did this, so I am not sure the exact document, but it was an RAF form. I guess it was not dissimilar to the NATS Non Standard Flight form.
I was introduced to the possibility, and sent the form, by someone in the MAA who I sit on the NATMAC committee with, so never had the pain of searching for it online (it’s not what you know….)
When I can, I go through my log book and emails to see if I can get some references, but it might be a while.
You can file ADEP=ADES with RR. Use proper departure and arrival points. At one of them add a STAY. Example for one hour flight from EPPO to EPPO with a 20 minute stay at DENKO.
EPPO1520 -N0200F100 DCT DENKO STAY1/0020 DENKO -EPPO0100
Which airport will you be flying from? I can make an RR plan/screenshot..
You can file this with the Aeroplus flight plan app, but alternatively, file a flightplan to destination with a route at FL250 and your departure aerodrome as alternate. Then call them up beforehand or when calling the tower at the departure aerodrome and tell them that you will divert back to the alternate somewhere in flight.
Couldn’t you file a flight plan to an airfield destination on the route and another one back and just tell ATC when airborne that you are not landing there and they should activate the return flight plan when close to the airfield?
If it gets rejected because of the EET, in Field 18 put STAYINFO01/WPT#### where WPT is your IFR waypoint and #### is a time in hrs/minutes (ie 0130 for 1hr 30 mins). You can also use DLE.
So a couple of examples if you want to delay at Seaford VOR for 1hr 30 minutes would be:
STAYINFO01/SFD0130
DLE/SFD0130
If you want to use multiple ‘holding’ locations you can only use the STAYINFO with the subsequent holding points being STAYINFO02 etc.
EuroFPL also allows the EET to be altered.
However how does this pass Eurocontrol validation? They apply their own EET calculation to it, and allow a margin of around 1.5x either way, and if your files EET falls outside that, they reject it with a message saying so.
