Autorouter issues and questions (merged)

I have responded with a request for clarification and explanation

Frequent travels around Europe

Autorouter is unable to determine valid route

I am trying to route from EDMA to LSZH on Apr 1st 1500z and I get this error from autorouter:

Error: unable to determine valid route.

What can I do to get a valid route?

LSZH, LSZF, Switzerland

When I try, the Autorouter succeeds with the route EDMA N0113F070 RIDAR4G RIDAR DCT OLASO DCT MOMUK Y110 RAVED L856 NEGRA NEGRA1Z LSZH.

This is with a Cessna 172. It might be a problem with your aircraft profile or your settings. I suggest you open a support ticket in Autorouter – in my experience you get a quick response.

If you can get @achimha to post here again, that would be another way to go

I use FlightPlanPro as a backup and for FL140 it produces

MAH Y100 MERSI Y110 RAVED L856 NEGRA

European routings can be highly altitude dependent.

Now it worked for me as well. Interestingly before it looked like autorouter itself finds a route but the Eurocontrol validation failed. Maybe Eurocontrol was down?

It looks like there was a brief unscheduled downtime at Eurocontrol

Autorouter vs RocketRoute error

Autorouter has proposed a good route from LGSR to LDDU as follows:

LGSR N0174F120 MIL1G MIL N134 KOR L53 GARTA V62 YNN L611 RODON DCT TIBRI R45 MOKUN MOKUN3A LDDU

The website says this has returned with no error.

When I try to validate this in RocketRoute it comes back with the error: THE DCT SEGMENT RODON..TIBRI (62 NM) IS TOO LONG FOR LYDCT:000:325. MAXIMUM IS 0 NM [LY1A]

Which is correct? RocketRoute is proposing the following route which is a tad ridiculous: DCT MIL N134 KOR L613 YNN L611 RODON A482 CRAYE A48 BEVIS

Who knows. If Autorouter says it works then file it on Autorouter.

This maximum is a bit low, unless directs are forbidden.

That’s one of the dreaded profiler issues…

The eurocontrol profiler thinks your climb/descent performance is different from what your aircraft is capable to do. Now when you file with autorouter we add profile information to give hints to the eurocontrol profiler. This information is missing if you cut&paste the route
