UK CAA now allows cost sharing between 6 people

It has been possible since 2014 by the M4-amendment to the Commission Regulation (EU) No 965/2012:

Page 7:

a) cost-shared flights by private individuals, on the condition that the direct cost is shared by all the occupants of the aircraft, pilot included and the number of persons sharing the direct costs is limited to six;

Time to fill up the AN2 as I am not aware of a proper 6 seat SEP on the market

I think that the “SEP” restriction is no longer there?

Cost sharing EASA

  • Non complex aircraft (which basically means planes for which NCO applies, i.e. SEP/MEP/SET and MET <5700kg)
  • Maximum 6 occupants (incl. Pilot)
  • Only direct costs (i.e. for an owner that leaves fuel and airfield charges).

It’s a huge can of liability sucking worms to take strangers on board!
