There has been a lot of this trouble reported at Bournemouth.
Apparently some govt official was able to follow a pilot (on foot) through a coded gate, to airside, and then kicked up a mega fuss.
The stupid thing is that Bournemouth has a perimeter many miles long, much of it with a "garden" fence which any half wit will just climb over. The only way to stop a determined person is to do a Gatwick style fence patrolled by armed guards, 24/7.
A gap with anti personnel mines would be even better - that's what Czechoslovakia (where I come from) had That's fairly effective in that you need some specialist equipment, and training on how to use it...
The whole approach is stupid. What is actually necessary in term of good security is that around passenger flights, so you have a secure area on the apron. It will never be possible to stop somebody just walking through any of the countless businesses around the airport, to airside.
BTW, WarleyAir, we don't mind other forums mentioned here but try to mention EuroGA.org on some of the other forum(s) and see how long that lasts before the mods there remove it
Thanks Peter. 'Copy' your BTW. I'm not very good at the 'political' side of things (it would seem)!!! Hope I've not put my big foot in it.
At #1 I pasted in the link 'in full'. It now shows (better) as a 'here' which is 'hot'.
Is that automatic? did PH change it for the better and how you do it?
Ah, I guess you use the 'Link' button etc.
