Five types you are missing in your logbook

If you could just convert to five types missing in your log book…

Early Lear Jet model 23 – I wonder if any remain airworthy

Grumman Widgeon – just to get an AMES rating, needs lake side lodge to go with it

Cessna 195 – the Lear only arrived around a dozen years after the Businessliner

Boeing Stearman – wing walker optional

MiG-25 ‘Foxbat’ – just to see if Eurocontrol can handle F1000

Oxford (EGTK), United Kingdom

Eurocontrol does not handle FL1000, everything above FL660 is class G.
And if you really want to get a Stearman in your logbook, I think I know a place just 60 NM away from Stapleford.

My five could be, for example…

Cri-Cri

IL-76

Republic RC-3 Seabee

SIAI-Marchetti SF.260

Solar Impulse

LKBU (near Prague), Czech Republic

Spitfire
F-16 (but I’d settle for a Lightning)
Acrostar Jet (James Bond plane in Octopussy)
AirCam (low, slow, MEP) – are there ANY in the UK or Europe?
Concorde

Concorde
Lockheed Super Constellation
Boeing 737-100 or -200 (with no glass cockpit – glass cockpit aircraft are all the same… just boring)
Hawker / Armsrong-Whitworth Sea Hawk
Santos-Dumont Demoiselle (but with a reliable engine please)

EDDS - Stuttgart

P-51 Mustang (I have hinted to my wife more than once that Stallion 51 would be a tremendous present for my next big birthday )
A-26 Invader (has always been my favourite warbird twin)
Bücker Jungmann (not rare, but I don’t know any owner personally)
Albatros (or comparable WW1 era aircraft)
F-18 (or comparable modern fighter)

LOAN Wiener Neustadt Ost, Austria

The Mosquito
B-17
Buccaneer
F-86 Sabre
Concorde

London area

F15 (Why does everyone choose an F16, when an F15 is better in every way apart from cost?)
Concorde
SR22
SR71
Any wight-shift flexwing

Just five? Okay, separated into two lists:

Will eventually happen at some point:
→ Pitts S-1
→ Stampe SV-4
→ Beech 18
→ Grumman Goose
→ Messerschmitt ME-108 Taifun

And I think this will probably never happen:
→ Dornier DO-X
→ Focke-Wulff FW-200 Condor
→ Blohm and Voss BV 238
→ Dornier DO-24
→ Junkers F-13

Well I am the most boring person here because there is only one type I want to fly but haven’t flown: an F16

Why not an F15? Because

  • the F16 looks better
  • I have only a SE CPL/IR

I agree. A F-104 starfighter would also a SE to fly. ME is overrated.
