Beautiful pics Dan. Yes, Spain has some spectacular scenery to offer for us aviators. And usually in lovely VMC. In summer during the middle of the day things get a little bumpy and one should look out for birds. The other thing to be wary about ‘when not in the FLs’ is wind turbines..

+1 Aart. And I’m sure not only you, but others will recognise that place?

Where is that canyon? https://www.euroga.org/forums/flying/691-random-flying-photos-thread/post/307708#307708

We will surely make some flying around Spain this year and always interested in seeing nice places

Germany

@UdoR
North of Pantà de Canelles, and only about 40NM (radial 238) from LESU

PS
Like @Aart pointed out, not sure I’d venture there in the Summer.. Birds, thermals, tourists, etc…

I have to admit we have not gone as far as: say in the middle and keep enough wingspan

In @Dan’s RV the last-minute escape from that particular canyon, if suddenly too narrow, could be an Immelmann turn?

Not a full one, but almost 😅 Good guess 👏🏻

You did the right thing to fly along the Northern coast, as you have seen it’s quite an imposing scenery with drops of max 800 m straight into the sea. The port of Soller in the picture being the only refuge. I fly along that coast regularly and if I ever get engine problems I hope I can limp there and then pull the chute in the middle of the bay!

Quite a spectacular plan…007 like

Back home, had to go for more today…
Tour de Mayen (LHS) & the Tour d’Aï (RHS)… and no, no one would fly between them, even if inverted, no way

PS
Far in the distance my friend the Matterhorn
