Looks like we are on a dead end with the idea to upgrade a basic six DA40 Diesel to Garmin G500.
The problem is that the standard Garmin STC is based on the American FAA DA40 TCDS, and it covers only the DA-40, DA-40F en DA-40NG model types. The DA40 Diesel is DA-40D, which is not on the list.
We have seen examples of upgraded DA40 G500 in Europe. There is even one advertised on Planecheck: http://www.planecheck.com/?ent=da&id=28039
These upgrades are approved with a minor change using the Garmin STC.
But there is a risk that the approval is rendered illegal later and that you have to undo the upgrade?
