German airfields with good lunch on field

Other than Straubing and Vilshofen, any other southern German airfields with good food on field? Need a meeting location which is fly in fly out (ie not a taxi to town). Hard runway, 1000m or more.

Good food is difficult to say, but there are many such airports with a restaurant in the south of Germany. In no particular order:

Eggenfelden, Freiburg, Mannheim (check new restrictions), Donaueschingen, Mengen (Italian), Trier, Koblenz (fast-food Greek). Even Schwäbisch-Hall has a decent restaurant (Italian) more or less on site – 500 metres across to the “other” airfield.
Not in Germany, but very close, you might even consider Strasbourg. Restaurant is a bit distant from GA parking though.

Mainz (EDFZ) & Egelsbach (EDFE), Germany

If Salzburg isn’t too far south, then you could go to Hangar 7 (the Red Bull aircraft museum), their restaurant is said to be excellent. See here for more info

@boscomantico mentioned most of the fields but the culinarian highlight is missing: EDDS (Stuttgart) Directly in the main terminal is the restaurant “Top Air” located. Here you will have a nice view over the field an can enjoy a perfect lunch. They have one Michellin star. The guys of Kurz (handling) will drive you from the GAT to the main terminal.

Hi all,
Siegerland EDGS and Bayreuth EDQD could be recommended for a refuel of plane and crew as well.. No michelin stars but good food in reasonable time.
EDGS has a italian restaurant so the menu is on the “lighter” side, fish, chicken, vegatables. Ie more adapted to flying activity levels. EDQD more on the hearty bavarian cuisine but they have fish on the menu as well.

Coburg EDQC is a nice visit. Not fancy but good Pizza and a very nice view of the castle on the approach to 12. Even has an RNAV LPV approach. Unfortunately, the 600m length doesn’t quite match your minimum though, Jason

Friedrichshafen should also tick your boxes: The LSC italian restaurant just reopened today and if you ask nicely (or perhaps call ahead +49-7541-284120) the airport might let you park directly in front of the patio. At least that’s what the Lufthansa Flight Training guys with their CJ’s do every other day…

Friedrichshafen EDNY

Can anyone along with the recommendation of a field (airport) with a restaurant please give airport charges (all) that one can expect? I know that that the figures might not be exact but at least it gives one an idea of what might be considered.

I can recommend EDFR – Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Very good Italian restaurant with stone oven pizza.
Runway is 950m. The field is closed on Mondays.
As it is a smaller field, charges should be very reasonable (depending on weight and noise certificate).

EDGH

Maybe we should have a list of this kind of airfields here on EuroGA? When I fly with my friend we like to go somewhere where there is more than and coffee machine.
