Corona / Covid-19 virus - airport and flying restrictions, and licensing / medical issues

So are we allowed to fly to France?

A very interesting question. LFAT is showing this notam:

So, based aircraft only at LFAT.

But Caen LFRK has no such notam. Cherbourg LFRC and Deauville LFRG also say nothing.

Maybe a French pilot can advise if there is some overriding law in France blocking visitors?

That is because there is the Green Zone which allows entry; whereas North-East France is in the Red Zone where entry is forbidden except under very restrictive regulations.
But, as has been mentioned above, the U.K. has done another U turn and anyone arriving back into the U.K. from France will be obliged to do two weeks quarantine.

Recreational general aviation is currently still not allowed in Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales.

Really? Which of the Scottish regulations prohibits people who live in England from flying (or any other recreational activity) in Scotland?

I had to google on that one

This is a fine example of an airfield “doing its own interpretation of the law” – Henstridge EGHS

In the meantime, based owners are paying hangarage.

No doubt this is replicated all over Europe, with varying degrees of legal validity.

That would be one airfield I would leave ASAP if based there.

Wow that guy sounds like a piece of work.

Unfortunately this kind of passive aggression (borderline bullying) is not uncommon in the U.K.
