I think one basically creates a directory of those interested, and then we work out a time.
I had ‘Skype beers’ with friends last week, using Houseparty for the conference call: quality was ok but it kept dropping connection for video (audio stayed good). Hopefully Zoom is better.

Zoom uses a meeting ID. On the free version you cannot edit this. It is a number. If this gets posted openly, and somebody sees it, they can “gatecrash” the meeting. Apparently this happens… So I can email everybody in this thread with the details, or we can set up a “zoom” telegram group. I think the email is easier.

I have created a telegram group for ZOOM video conference. This is a good way to coordinate the times. Also I don’t think all the clients support e.g. file transfer so telegram can be used for this. And it avoids posting the joining details in the forum where some spammer could pick them up.
