UK CAA general aviation handbook

here

This handbook provides an introduction to the general aviation (GA) sector. The sector includes all non-scheduled commercial civil aviation and represents a diverse range of activity ranging from emergency services to recreational flying.
It outlines the economic, social and infrastructural value of GA and the sector’s supporting airfield network.
It also explains how the sector can work with stakeholders, such as local authorities to improve operations, safety and services for the benefit of businesses, the economy and the community.
The handbook is for stakeholders including:
the GA sector and associated organisations
local authorities
other private organisations

So, the average pilot contributes £137,931/year to the economy through their flying activities. These are the same people who won’t pay more than £10 to land on the Isle of Wight
It’s a syllogistic fallacy, but I couldn’t resist. The source is the 2015 York report and pages 125-132 for methodology.

As an overview aimed at e.g. local government it’s not a bad booklet. Hopefully it’s an available resource and might help influence some planning decisions. The (stock) photos are good, even if some of the descriptions are funny when you hover the mouse over them.
