I wonder what effect this might have on premiums? Sorry to hear the level of damage.
There is a nice early C180 which flys better than any Cessna I have ever flown. It had very light, very subtle historic hail damage, and I wonder if the lively flying qualities were down to some abstruse golf ball dimple effect :)

Not to that extent I think. And particularly not the distance that got hail. But as you can imagine a lot of people are working on figuring that event out. There is an initial blog post available in German here:

Wow. The gif worked great for me – very interesting image(s). Our little airport got spared the worst of it, thankfully. No idea how our 1940s hangar would have faired with that kind of hail – we have translucent plastic panels to allow light in – and they are very brittle. They have collapsed with far less in the past.
Also, not sure how insurance would handle aircraft damage like this. I need to talk to my insurance company and my hangar “landlord”.

I would think that hull cover will step in at least at first, possibly they may seek compensation from the hangar owner’s elementary damage insurance.
