New ice protection systems

The paints which came out a while ago don’t seem to work at all for aircraft

@Peter, that’s interesting. Seems to breathe a new meaning into an old joke: if they make aircraft black boxes out of crash-resistant material, why don’t they make the whole aircraft of the same stuff?

Hmm, and what if a chunk of it hits the tailplane?

Is that really a significant risk? The ice falling off is traveling at close to the same speed as the airplane, it’s not like hitting an ice ball at TAS
