I know this is likely more a Jeppesen question than ForeFlight, but I though I’d ask ForeFlight here.
Many of the smaller light sport airfields in Italy are now included in ForeFlight. However the same has not yet happened with all the similar fields listed as LFnnnn in France. Is ForeFlight working to have these also added?
Hi @chflyer,
The short answer is yes we are working on adding smaller airports, glider fields, hang glider, ultralight, and heliports/helipads. The question is if we have the airfields in the data that we receive from Jeppesen. Happy to check to see if you have a field in mind. Part of the issue is we are working to evolve our system to support these smaller fields that do not traditionally have codes so we can ensure we support displaying, touch planning, and filing so that our users have the same experience as they do with other airports.
This is something actively in work so stay tuned. But if you would send me a direct message with some airfields, I’d be happy to look into it.
All the best,
Josh
Very late to the thread but I’m a big fan of Foreflight. Just moved back from living/flying in the US for years (KGAI) and got used to FF there. Too bad that Europe hasn’t adopted ADS-B for GA yet… The airborne information is just amazing!
I just started a year basic subscription to try FF. So far i’m testing on home computer to get used to it and I’m very pleased although it’s very different from what I knew (SD ans SDVFR). A lot of cares to everything that is key around runway, but airspace and frequency are less obvious to retrieve, as well as prohibited and restricted. What is missing is vertical management that is well done in SD, and surely on pro plus pack.
I’m surprised by how easy it is to do IFR with IAC chart, even if these charts are crap versus Jeppesen ones, but damn it’s expensive…670€ when whole USA is les than half, a bit contrary to low price for basic sub.
I’ll keep taking pdf from school…
I agree. IFR is too expensive in Europe. And one should be able to choose one country at a time.
You don’t have to buy the charts for longer than you need them in foreflight, you pay a years subscription to the charts but can cancel at end time for a credit.
Seriously? Are you cancelling your Netflix account at the end of a movie?

New Street & Aerial Map StylesBoth the Street Map and Aerial Map layers have improved styling.
The Aerial Map has more prominent street and place labels to help you identify features on the map.
The Street Map uses a new style that continues showing topographical information even at very high zoom levels.
Both map layers require an internet connection to view.
Would you mind posting a few pictures of the new map styles? For me, the biggest hindrance to switch over from Skydemon is still the poor quality of the VFR basemap.
