Can a VLA category be used for PPL

Hi there, there is a DA-20 i found, it says in the CoA that its VLA. Is it ok for PPL time? Thank you

VLA – yes.

Fly safely
Various UK. Operate throughout Europe and Middle East, United Kingdom

From pilot’s perspective, VLA is just like CS-23 (C172, etc.). It’s just a lighter certification specification.

I have heard that VLA (and LSA) will cease to exist as certification concepts when CS-23 has been revised.
But yes, VLA’s and LSA’s are certified aircraft and are used for pilot training. The DA-20 is VLA and is used for PPL training.
