Depository for off topic / political posts (NO brexit related posts please)

P.S. @Airborne_Again, communication failure, my bad. When I voted for BoJo to become PM this summer, his was one of only two names on the ballot paper. They were both members of the same political party.

Glenswinton, SW Scotland, United Kingdom
@Off field: “scotish national socialist party”

There was no such party on my ballot paper. The Scottish National Party is a middle-ground pro-business and pro-Europe party with a considerable ethnic mix at all levels.
“National Socialist” has historical connotations in Europe.

Sorry if I’ve got it wrong, The SNP policies have always seemed quite socialist for me although maybe what they actually do in practice is different.

I certainly know it’s been good for the supermarkets business just south of the border, as many cost sensitive scots booze cruise past hadrian’s wall to get the alochol deals.

Higher tax,
Sturgeon being the chosen successor to accused rapey mr Salmond always struck me as the appointed successor favoured by socialists all over, much like I suspect Corbyn and Mcd will go for Long-Bailey.
Unwillingness to accept democratic decisions
Creation of a state controlled energy firm.
poor financial control
failure of education under their watch
forced land reposession ( was it the acerage cap? )
Opposing Trident,
Tighter firearms laws
Sportring rates tax

These seem quite a bit further left than middle to me.

Trident is an abhorrent waste of money, good on them.

Sywell EGBK RNAV GNSS Instrument Approaches Approved by UK CAA

A small bit of good news in these very dark times for my home country:

CAA link local copy

strip near EGGW

From a quick read: what a load of nonsense in there…so much paper, so many words…

Sure, in order to get things going, one sometimes has to make compromises, especially with that naysayer called UK CAA, but geez…

Normal admin policy on EuroGA is to not edit posts for content and since the 1st post made a clear party political statement, these posts have been moved to this “politics” thread, which almost nobody reads because they got sick of a particular poster’s virtue signalling many months ago. What a complete waste of everybody’s time, including mine when I am on a holiday, and a waste of a good topic.

Bet your glad to get that lot off your chest….utter nonsense, but hey, who cares in today’s mad, mad world. Freedom of speech and opinion.

One of the real issues in UK politics today is that no one actually understands the real difficulties at play for everyone and all parties.. Why? because the political classes of all left/right/centre, cannot stand up and admit that we have no money. Poverty in the UK is a fact, but not one that anyone likes to admit. So while they all moan about Brexit, the NHS, the HS2 project, 8000 food banks are all doing pretty well, and most public service outlets are knackered. And before anyone from SW1, or the Dorset heartlands pipes up about we have never had it so good, sorry, we have not. The country has a problem, that of no money. So once we all get together and sort that conundrum, perhaps we just might get on track to a better future for all.
