The German CAA (LBA) has just closed one of the largest flight training organizations in Germany, IKON in Erlangen, effective immediately. An investigation on two other TRTO (type rating training organizations) is ongoing.
LBA accuses three examiners and the flight school of signing type ratings where students did not conduct the required simulator/type training.
Given that the LBA closed down the whole FTO effective immediately and thus destroyed the existence of a lot of people, it must have been a very serious scheme they were running.
