Avinor just released a beta trial version of IPPC 4.0. Looks kind of cool and includes all of the Nordic countries and the UK, not just Norway.
You can get it here by pushing the IPPC 4.0 beta button. Lots of new stuff, and it’s all “visual” (point and click on a map). It’s for planning purposes of course, filing FPL and briefings. This new version also has a auto geolocation feature for VFR flight plans (instead of using coordinates). IFR can use autoroute as before.
Interesting. However, so far airspace information is for Norway only.
There are some other minor things as well, not that airspaces are of that much importance when filing a FP from A to B though. It’s no substitute for SD. I never file FPs in SD anyway, it costs money, and who knows where they end up. I have a list of re-usable FPs at IPPC, where I know they end up at the right places when activated.
The meteograms at airports are very nice.
It’s no out of beta and is the only official version. Much more practical than the old one and much easier to file flight plans, point and click.
