IFR-Training with a Lancair IV P (Homebuilt ) in LSZB climbing from OVC into bright sunshine with the swiss alps in the background – plus short Video sequence.
Is IFR in homebuilts legal in Switzerland, and if so, what are the conditions?
The IR is definitely worth doing. It’s a pity that it’s a big and time-consuming project.
Passengers are always amazed when one climbs up through a layer – especially if you let them fly the plane, just keeping wings level on the AI.

No thread drift please I don’t know about Switzerland, but it is legal in Germany with an N-reg homebuilt without operating limitation “VFR only”.
That’s certainly new to me!
This thread is great….what flying is all about.
Great stories and descriptions. I echo Flyer59’s comments. To fly, especially IFR is a great privilege.!
