Le Touquet LFAT May 2016

We’ll join if the weather looks ok towards the end of the week. Is the plan for Saturday?

Let’s work on Saturday then. I have edited the thread title.

Too early to tell. This picture has been different every day this week.

Look like the forecast are much better than expected…

Looks a bit windy for the Super Cub, although LFAT has a big apron and could request a hover landing.

From GFS:

I think that BBC data is in mph, for a start.

What ground speed could you maintain? Would you have the endurance to get there?

EGTK Oxford

Jason spot on, assuming the wind at 2,000’ was another 10 knots, EET would be three hours from Andrewsfield, fifty five minutes on the return. With 35usg endurance is six hours with reserves.

BBC data is in mph, but in my experience tends to be lower than actual. One of the drawbacks of tailwheel on Tarmac runways is the practicalities and safety of taxying in strong winds. Taxying in winds above 15-20 mph is tricky, and ideally done with the help of pie eating wing walkers.
