TB 20 Horizontal stabilator Fittings

10 Posts

Hi TB20 owner,
I’m confronted with SB 10-101 July 1996 Amdt 2 Mar 00
Horizontal stabilator Fittings.
Solution: To inspect repetitively using dye penetrant inspection, the horizontal stabilator hinge bearings and replace them, if necessary.
What is the best way, replacement or all 100h an inspection?
Thanks in advance

That looks like a fun job. Can you get the brackets off the spar or do you have to do the di-pen in situ ?

Thise brackets unscrew (captive nuts in the spar) but I haven’t heard of this requirement before. Maybe it is airframe S/N limited or there is a terminating action with the GT model.

Edit: this SB Applicable to the aircraft SN#1 to 1864 , 1867 to 1868 , it’s not applicable to mine, which is why I haven’t seen it

Remove them, strip the paint, NDT, repaint, screw back on.

We applied sb 10-110-55 so as not to be concerned by this NDT inspection.
