Hi. I’m thinking how to feed my ADC200 with heading signal. Accepted is XYZ synchro heading.
If there is on the market small, light unit that can provide this signal? I need it for experimental aircraft.
I don’t want to go into heavy systems like KCS55.
Do you have an existing slaved compass system including a flux detector/magnetometer?
Yes; a slaved compass system is a “must” for any plane. Once you have had that you will never want to go back to the silly old system of having to set the heading on the DI from the compass, every 5-10 mins
If this was me I would buy a used Sandel SG102 on US Ebay. A compact unit, and it uses the MT102 fluxgate magnetometer. It is a high spec high reliability product.
Maybe Garmin do a module within the G1000 system which will give you X/Y/400Hz? You will still need a fluxgate magnetometer though; no way to get a heading without that. Usually it goes in the wingtip but some people mount them in the rear hull cavity.
Yes. I couldn’t get this sandel and on other hand low price of experimental set of g5 made that I went into g5. I mean I need now time to install it ;). This will let me to remove adc200 totally (ok still I neef fuel flow) but g5 will provide all air data set to gns.
I’ve just bought a latest-version SG102, overhauled, for $1500, from Southeast Aerospace. Unbeatable…
