Given that G5 in DG/HSI mode provides no rate of turn indication, I’d assume it would still apply.
Finally got the invoice for my dual G5 + Trutrak installation..
The G5’s work well in a Piper panel with the plastic trim as can be seen above, If you want to have the units look that good in a panel that has no plastic trim then you need to budget for a flush Mount.
