I used these three weeks for practicing and hand-flying non-precision approaches :) using ADF, VOR and ILS w/o GP with NAV2. Last weekend I had the opportunity to do localizer approach to LDPL RW27 to minima - if you remember the landscape I was above quarry and still didn't see the runway due to some scattered clouds at 800' below solid overcast at 2800'. My wife asked me: "How do you know that the airfield is in front of us?" Didn't have time to explain :) I was quite busy goggling for the runway.
I hope you get the full value reimbursed, Emir.
I use these firms daily at work and they smash up a good % of the stuff. Some of it could not be smashed up if you threw it onto concrete but they still manage it. With the prices they charge, they need to be made accountable.
Especially in your case where they packed it.
Finally closed this story. Received new unit yesterday, installed it today and made test flight an hour ago. Everything works correctly. Still waiting money from DHL - agreement confirmed.
Progressing with agreement with DHL ...
Unfortunately this story will end with replacement unit at cost of €6000. I paid it and I'll engage lawyer to get it from DHL.
New offer €200.
DHL (and all the others) invest heavily in staff training on how to fob people off.
Dealing with complaints of damage has to be their primary customer interface function.
Oh and also complaints about their drivers being booked to collect between say 9:00 and 17:00 but actually turning up at 08:50 (because they happen to be passing at that time, and are on a bonus to make the round), finding the office empty (obviously) and putting a "missed collection" card through the door with 09:01 written on it...
Someone must be having a laugh at DHL. You told them the value!
They admited their mistake and offered €110 for compensation.
At least 50mm (more) of foam on all six sides + Peter's 'strong box' - even a mini wooden crate!!!
