Huge simplifications in EASA ELA-1 maintenance, maybe?

putting mechanics back to their actual work (getting them out of the overwhelming paperwork of today).

Actually the split of airworthiness and maintenance allowed mechanics to do a lot less paperwork and maintain more. Now with a CAO they need to do both again. Of course, many owners insisted that the maintenance company also would be the airworthiness company and so the customers asked the mechanics to write more. In addition, many owners and mechanics suffer from severe anticipatory obedience and write down a lot more than necessary.

The annual of my Lake takes up less than half an hour of paperwork, incl. issuing the new ARC and updating any lists in the maintennace file. I hope I’ll be able to keep it that low.
