Electrical failures -- how do you protect yourself?

The VP-400, from the maker of the VPX-pro, looks really interesting. Maybe it's well known, but I'd not seen it before. It continuously monitors all runways within glide distance, based on the runway suitability, winds, aircraft performance, etc. On the flight display it shows which are in range and can be made to show the best path to a dead stick landing at any of them complete with energy management. Then, if things go really badly (e.g. pilot incapacitation, or engine failure) you press a button and it flies the aircraft to the threshold for you, leaving you to deal with your heart attack, try to get the engine going, do your Mayday call, etc.

That is a fantastic product!

No way could it ever be certified though.

The US Experimental community has some amazing stuff to play with.
