I heard there is an AD for TB 20’s to replace
both nose landing gear compensating actuator and that annually?
Is that true?
I’m very interested to get more information.
Thomas
I have not heard of an AD but there is probably either an SB or an “instruction” in the TB20 MM saying that.
It is a good idea, because (a) they are required to lower the nose gear in an emergency and (b) they are relatively cheap.
When you accumulate a lot of these struts, you can send them to a firm which refills them back to the spec pressure. Actually most will be fine after 1 year, but there is no easy way to test them. You would have to make a fixture to measure them. And even then you can’t be sure whether the seal is going to fail soon.
Thanks Peter,
good to know that. I’ll follow this advice.
