Quick question on tyre creep mark paint

After fitting new tyres, I'd like to paint (non)creep marks on the tyres and rim. Is there anything special about the type of paint to be used?

No doubt there will be someone offering specialist "aviation" paint at £100/pot, but I really just need to establish if it will affect the rubber. For example, I recall using household paint on a central heating radiator once and that certainly didn't last long.

Thanks

Try your local Halfords, they have tyre marking pens. Normal paint wears off quickly.

Keep in mind one of the "hidden" causes of tire creep; Particularly in retractables, but also in faster fixed gear, where the spinning wheels vibrate the plane after takeoff, pilots jump on the brakes to stop the tire rotation. In moderation, this is okay, but it is really easy to instantly lock the rim with the brake, when there is no force trying to keep the wheel spinning. The spinning wheel will be stretched a little due to centrifugal effect, and have less traction on the rim. So, rim stops, tire keeps going.

If you can see the tires from the cockpit, watch, if you apply the brakes after takeoff. If you can't see them, really easy going.

If you're sliding tires on rims with braking on the ground, something you're doing is being over done..
