Milano Bresso needs help

i was at the beginning of April at Milano Bresso it was really nice and super helpfull people there

now comes a weird one!!

during my stay when i had my airplane parked on the apron among lots of other aircrafts – during the early hours of sunday some so called “investigive” journalist entered the airfield and did some running arround on all the parked airfield and took pictures and claimed how easy it is to enter the airfield and steal a plane and fly within 3 min to the world expo site and do “nasty” things !!!!

i just got an email form the airport that they have been CLOSED down now for 30 days and dont know if the can reopen about 20 odd jobs are depending there also!!!!!

what a mess!!! feel really sorry for them

this is a first class airport more or less right in the city of milano and total GA friendly

fly2000

NOTAM renewed until 24th of August! (they will probably keep renewing it until the end of expo in October)…

Meanwhile, Aeroclub Milano, other flying schools, maintenance businesses etc. are starving to death.

Well, that was it for Bresso I guess.

At least, they have now (after more than a month!) created a “corridor” to allow operations at Bresso to resume:

Here’s a little map:

I hear they have some pretty absurd PPR procedures in place that would make the average UK airfield manager jealous…

Very strange… Why not let traffic enter/exit to the NE? Then it will be in the restricted area a much shorter time.

“Mode A and C transponder operative” – sic.

No logic at all behind it. Simply shows yet again what a banana republic Italy is when it comes to aviation.

- That airfield is right at the boundary of this exclusion zone and they can’t take it out so that they can operate normally? That is because they do not WANT.
- In essence, this means with the “right” argumentation ONE “investigative” yellow press journalist can close down an airfield at will.
- And I suppose the Aeroclub and others stationed there have no legal means to fight this or even sue for damages?

Horrible.

As for “investigative” journalism: I have been for a very long time of the opinion that journalists who comit felonies in order to post their sensational reports should be exposed to the FULLEST extent of the law for the felonies comitted.

This guy has quite obviously threspassed on Bresso’s property without authorisation. So he should be fined heavily at least or even jailed for burglary.
The guys who regularly smuggle knives or other stuff on airliners to “prove” the inefficiency of security and therefore indicating to real terrorist organisations that it is easily possible to do this, should go to jail for a) interfering with flight operations and b) supporting terrorism.
The papers who publish such suggestions to terrorism should be fined heavily or, failing their compliance, closed down under anti terrorist laws.

Yes, I am fuming. But I have also had discussions with people who really are involved in anti terrorist operations and they are fuming too about such things.

I agree with you, fully. When ecologist put fumigens on nuclar facilities in France with a small motor para-glider what is the solution for the guy in charge of security ?
Shoot it ? not Shoot it ? in both case he will be the bad guy !
But now because of Drones and terrorism, be careful to famous french ZIT, they are nervous. One time I land in my small airfield (a small grass strip) and I was welcome by police.
a plane fly in a nuclar zone nearby (not me). So they arrested all planes around to check identity…

the main problem is to fight a stupid demonstration the common way is to set up an other stupid demonstration…

So, only based aircraft will be allowed to fly there. Ridiculous!
