No, I’m happy with the JPI and there’s no room in that part of the panel for anything with a larger screen.
The GTN 750 is great. Very user-friendly, huge screen, LPV-approved. The only issue is the touchscreen in turbulence but there are curved indents on the side which you can grip instead of punching wildly. I’ve now paid for the nav-data for the 430W as well so the flight-plans crosstalk.
Did you look at the Insight Avionics G4 as replacement for the JP?
Really great product.
Aspen looks neat! They are a good product. (I fly with it almost everyday.)
How do you like the touchscreen GTN 750?
excellent, thanks for the info
what are go around and traffic ack buttons for?
As Shorrick Mk2 said, GA gives me 10 deg pitch on the Flight Director and disengages the Autopilot.
Traffic Acknowledge mutes any Traffic Advisory audio and (I think) closes the Traffic Page pop-up on the GTN 750. Need to check that.
On some Bo’s you can access from the firewall also, there is plate that can be removed with srews on the Pilot side makes more easy for accessing some connectors, equipment etc..
Go Around button gives you go around pitch indication on the flight director.
what are go around and traffic ack buttons for ? just curious, as i know all the others
The glareshield comes off easily for access to the rear of the instruments.
I wonder if I’ve got room on the yoke for a frequency swap button? At the moment, the left stalk has PTT, AP Disconnect, Go-Around and Trim, and the right stalk has Traffic Ack, Tx Ident and Control Wheel Steering.
All the stuff that’s been removed has a green “Serviceable” tag. For £60-80 they can do a full inspection and issue an EASA Form 1 "Authorised Release Certificate” and an FAA Form 8130 “Airworthiness Approval Tag”.
From the avionics team: “The HSI part number is 066-3046-07 and overhauled exchange price out of the USA is $2950.”
Make me an offer!
