Turbotech

The TP-R90 is a 122 hp engine. For Lycosaur engines of that power, the 2000 hr TBO is mostly fiction. What about the 3000 hr TBO for the turbine? Is that a hard limit?

What are the relative initial costs?

No data posted on the costs…

My point was that the TBO is less relevant if there is some huge difference in the relative costs. And most potential owners can’t pay the purchase cost of a turbine anyway.

I would say that let’s wait and see if they can get a Type Certificate – so manage good Turbo startups have failed due to certficiation requirements and cost.

122 hp is clearly not meant to be certified. Besides, MOSAIC (in the USA) removes any and all insentives for certification for smaller GA. It’s a thing of the past. What EASA is going to do about it is still a mystery though.

This article shares pricing for the new turbine Cub, 297k USD for a fully loaded Cub, 690K USD for the turbine model
How much is this Cubcrafters charging a premium for being first?, this seems a suicidal number to try and introduce a new motor.
The numbers I saw from this video

(french) that they were aiming for 90k euros for the package (august 2025) which seemed more than reasonable given the proposed 3000 lifetime.
