Can an SE- (homebuilt) aircraft have a permit allowing Eurocontrol IFR?
Just that question…
I know we have done it here before but I don’t think anything was very clear.
The aircraft in question is very capable of this mission profile.
I don’t really understand the question. I fly IFR all the time in single engine aircraft. Eurocontrol? Who knows. In my part of Europe, the service provider is called DFS (Deutsche Flugsicherung). Eurocontrol coordinates instrument flight plans across Europe, including those of our national service provider.

Is there a difference between UK IFR, “Eurocontrol IFR” or FAA IFR?
There is no ‘Eurocontrol IFR’ aircraft certification.
I don’t see a problem if a permit to fly aircraft is certified for IFR, to fly on an Eurocontrol FP
Do we have LAA permits? As long as you fly with in the permit country or region.
A flight from Biggin Hill to Aberdeen could be on an Eurocontrol FP
Not in an LAA type because the permits currently are “VFR-only”.
That was my Q. Would an SE-reg homebuilt be possibly thus not restricted?

If one cares to look at the forum section… I always access the forum via “most recent posts” and only look at the thread titles.
Regarding Peter’s question: As I understand it, it is the national authority which can certify a homebuilt or experimental for flight under IFR. Some authorities do (like the FAA and some countries in Scandinavia for example), some do not (yet), under no circumstances (like Germany or the UK). As long as you have an entry permission of a foreign country, you can operate your experimental there as it is certified in it’s state of registry. So for example a Swedish experimental which is IFR certified by the Swedish CAA can fly IFR to Germany if it has the permission to enter Germany.
